The Single Maps cover local areas along the coast where a single map sheet is sufficient to cater for most people's needs. They are intended for users in small open vessels that mainly travel in their local area, and where the map is exposed to a humid and wet environment with great wear and tear. The maps are therefore printed on rigid plastic, and are very robust.
To improve readability and navigation, the maps are printed in scale 1 : 30 000.
Each map sheet is printed on both sides on a 35 cm x 45 cm page, and can be flipped to see the rest of the area.
The Plastic makes the maps water resistant and very robust, even in quite strong wind. The map sheets are well suited for drawing on with a pencil and then erasing again, and may be left in an open boat or stored in a wet environment. We hope this will improve the availability of quality maps and increase the safety for seafarers.
