Simrad WBAT - Wideband Autonomous Transceiver
The Simrad WBAT is a programmable, fully integrated echo sounder system for long term deployment in marine and fresh water environment. A Simrad autonomous EK system consists of the WBAT, a software for mission planning, and one or more wideband transducers. The system is easily scalable with addition of more WBAT’s or transducers.
The WBAT itself includes a mission controller, data storage and internal power. The echo sounder part of the WBAT unit is built upon the WBT transceiver used in the EK80, with features such as wideband capability, 4 independent channels that can be used in split or single beam configurations, and perhaps most important a shared data format for direct comparisons across acoustic platforms.
The WBAT mission planner SW can run on any Windows based computer, and it provides for a sophisticated mission setup where user can tailor transmission and storage to optimize battery and data size.
